Increased demand for secure communication
Since the internet was accepted as a means of professional communication in business, the services offered have grown both in numbers and in technical complexity and sophistication. Thus the need to secure sensitive and critical information has increased dramatically. Safeday has been developed especially for HTTP applications that demand high security and easy administration.
Safeday is, in contrary to PKI-solutions, a small and scaleable application without time restricted certificates or CA which can be distributed throughout the organization giving your company one of the most cost effective and secure solutions available on the market.
Safeday software consists of two parts. Safeday KeyManager for user administration , and Safeday Client , the user client-proxy. Safeday KeyManager is installed on the server intended to authorize incoming connections from users. User administration is managed on the server and the Safeday Clients are delivered as pre-configured EXE-files or can be downloaded ‘on-demand’ through a browser. The Administrator can easily at any time change the settings for any user account in KeyManager in order to prevent and eliminate unauthorized access in case of theft, abuse or a change in access level. In order to activate the client-proxy and access the intended webservice the user has to enter a valid 6-digit PIN-code. Safeday Client can be combined with othert hardware devices such as KeapLogin to raise the level of security even further.

BitGrade Systems AB is an Swedish company, located in Alingsås (40km from Gothenburg), that uses System SKG to secure web communication.
One of the common problems when using the web for information exchange is protection of the data being transferred between the client and the server. Encryption of the information is required to protect the data. Since the web is supposed to be platform/architecture independent it is also desirable for the secure solution. The tools/platform of choice is Java.
